I hate Science Fiction. Maybe not 'all things science fiction' because personally, I'd never grasped the whole concept of that thing. Aliens with green skin and bloated heads and guns to reduce you into dusts, plotting to invade our planet? Pssh. Please!
In a Nutshell : Three lovers. Two bodies. Wanderer (later nicknamed 'Wanda') is the invading soul (Stephenie Meyer's term for aliens in her science fiction book for the science fiction haters) inserted at the back of 17-year-old Melanie Stryder's mind. Instead of fading away, Melanie torments Wanderer with thoughts of Jared and Jamie, but mostly Jared, and as inconvenient as it is for Wanderer (the story is based from her perspective), she falls in love with her host's boyfriend. Three lovers. Two bodies. Do the math.
Finding the Book : Oh you know. Once stepheniemeyer, twilightlexicon, and twilighters become a daily web visit routine, you just get the information. It really annoyed me when I started reading the books and everyone else in America and Britain and wherever were writing reviews already. It's just not fair for other Stephenie Meyer fans in the Philippines and elsewhere. I'm kidding!?! Or am I ...
Story Plot : I'll pick up from where I left you in 'In a Nutshell'. After Melanie torments Wanderer with thoughts and dreams of Jared and Jamie by feeding her with memories, and after Wanderer falls in love with her host's boyfriend and brother, Melanie managed to convince Wanderer to set out on a mission to find the two. Dying in the desert, they were found by Uncle Jeb, Mel's uncle, who prepared a perfect perfect hiding place from the rest of Wanderer's kind. It was back to the survival of the fittest. If you were not 'fit', the mean Seekers would catch you and insert a soul at the back of your mind and you'd fade away. Naturally, the last few people on Earth despised Wanderer's kind. And even if they called themselves 'souls', some humans considered them parasites-or even 'worms'. Both Melanie and Wanderer (heck, the two are inseperable frenemies anyway) found Jared and Jamie but making them accept Mel's fate was another story. Along the way, the humans learned to respect Wanderer and she slowly gained their trust. She even found love-but I didn't say it was from Jared. So what would that make? 4 loves in 3 bodies? It gets even more complicated, don't you think?
Review Proper : An adult novel with no adult content whatsoever. Maybe adult content did happen somewhere between the lines but the word was never actually blurted out. Something I'm greatly thankful for. As usual, another fantastic job by Stephenie Meyer. It was a bit more complicated and more slow than the teenage-hormone-packed Twilight saga, but nevertheless, it's still a really good book. Forget the price when it comes to Mdm. Meyer's books. You're assured to have hours and hours of a good read. Swear!!!
Favorite Part : Everytime the Melanie-Wanderer-Jared-Ian Love Quadrangle heats up. Because when Ian kisses Wanderer, Melanie gets disgusted because her only love is Jared. Imagine having to kiss someone else! And when Jared kisses Wanderer, still, Melanie gets upset because her boyfriend's kissing someone else even if it's her body?!? Huh? Whaaat!?
How does the story end anyway? Spoiler alert. Spoiler alert. It's got a happy ending. :) | Category: | Movies | | Genre: | Action & Adventure |
And you let the Philippines release date (ehem June 6 ehem) get in the way? Well I didn't and I watched Prince Caspian battle it out today on the net. I don't know if that was even legal so I'm not posting the link here. I don't want to get sued. I'm just 15! Anyway, moving on ...
In a nutshell : Peter (William Moseley), Susan (Anna Popplewell), Edmund (Skandar Keynes), and Lucy (Georgie Henley) journies back to Narnia after Prince Caspian (Ben Barnes) blows the magical horn that's suppose to bring back the kings and queens of the old back. PC is the rightful to the throne but EUK ... er ... evil uncle king (poser) is doing whatever it takes to dispose of him.
Finding the Movie : In an awesome website posting full movies for free. Kind of like Youtube. And if you ask me, what made you interested with Narnia 2? I'll hit you on the head I swear! I was looking forward to this movie for months! Not that I'm a CS Lewis fan and I never really really liked the first movie. But you know, Narnia's still a big name.
Story Plot : Based on the beloved novel by CS Lewis, Narnia : Prince Caspian, is the sequel to Narnia : The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. The story goes like this, one year in our world is many many years for Narnia. The original talking and fairy tale characters of Narnia are driven away by more 'sons of Adam' and 'daughters of Eve'. Prince Caspian is the rightful heir to the throne but his evil uncle, upon the birth of a son, plots on his death. So he runs awayyy! (Please see the trailer I posted. Makes everything easier for the both of us.) Enough plot look. I might end up giving you a spoiler. You would not want that.
Review Proper : Liike it waay better than the first one. A 4/5. The awesome-est. I loved the action all throughout the movie. And I loved the hidden attraction. (sighs). Who am I talking about? You really wanna know? Sorry can't tell you. Bet you've seen that coming huh? Hard blow. Anyway, lots of people liked the first one because I've read some of their reviews but I really liked this better. This was great. Took a long time to download but it was definitely worth it.
Favorite Scene : The ending scene. I like to call it Phyllis. You'll find out as soon as you see it. The ending was sad. Bittersweet. Yep. That's the word. | Category: | Movies | | Genre: | Cult |
In A Nutshell : Lestat is a vampire who longs for attention. In doing so, he captures the Queen of the Vampire's too, the Queen of the Damned, you may say.
Finding the Movie : My Aunt Ann wanted me to watch this when I was way younger. But I wasn't sure if I watched it or not-I don't remember anything so probably not. I watched "Interview With The Vampire" weeks ago starring Tom Cruise as Lestat. Though the actor is different here, Stuart Townsend did a fab job anyway. And did I mention the late Aaliyah starred here. She did okay. Going back, I just wanted to watch a vampire flick to satisfy my thirst and hopefully, watching movies like these will help me survive until December when Twilight will be released. Ugh ... such a long long time.
Story Plot : Based on Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles about the notorious vampire Lestat who disguises himself as a rock star. The Queen of the Damned Akasha awakens and has a taste for both mortal and immortal blood. After draining the King of the Damned's (Lolz) blood, she makes a special appearance at Lestat's concert. Just when things couldn't get anymore complicated, Jesse enters the picture. A young woman who has a strange (not exactly, actually. can't blame her when the vampire's hot) attraction for Lestat.
Review Proper : I'll give it 4 stars. I'd definitely watch it again if I have the luxury of time. And I'm recommending it to you. The plot's way different from the book (I know. I have a copy-a hand-me-down) but I'm not so sure yet because I'm not done reading. Marius was suppose to ... hmm. Zip. Got it. No spoilers. It's a wee bit different but it's still enjoyable. Nice effects!
Favorite Scene : When Jesse went inside the vampire bar in London and then "gets rescued" by Lestat. She impresses him with her vampiric knowledge. Let's take her advice. Read as much vampiric myths as you can. It might come in handy one day! | Category: | Movies | | Genre: | Romantic Comedy |
In A Nutshell : Penelope is a story about a cursed girl with a piggy nose. Yep. You heard (or read) it right. Played by Christina Ricci and also starring Reese Witherspoon, this is definitely a worth-watching modern fairy tale with twist.
Finding the Movie : I was browsing through Twilightlexicon like I do everyday and there was an announcement that there will be a Twilight Movie Sneak Peek in the Penelope DVD. I was wondering "What is Penelope"?! It sounded awesome.
Story Plot : Nothing in life will ever be perfect. Penelope had it all-a promising future, aristocratic loving parents, and a pig's nose?! Penelope's family was supposedly cursed by a witch (which will be explained in the movie, of course). The only way to break it is if someone of their own kind-a blue blood-could truly love her for who she is-even for her nose. Not a very easy thing to do, huh?
Review Proper : 4/5 again. It really was living up to its name as a modern fairy tale. Plus, I've always loved Christina Ricci. She's a great actress and I've always looked up to her since the day I first saw "Casper" (oh Casper, I loved that movie!). And Reese Witherspoon was there! Loved the story. Loved the acting. 'Nuff said or I might give you spoilers.
Favorite Scene : The wedding. The bridesgroom's expression was priceless. | Category: | Movies | | Genre: | Science Fiction & Fantasy |
In A Nutshell : Edward Scissorhands is a beautiful story about a boy who has scissors for hands-blades, sharp things. And his name is Edward. Certainly not an Edward Cullen much but hey, the actor Johnny Depp is still sizzling sexy. Hmm.
Finding the Movie : My dad recommended it to me a few months ago when we were watching "Sweeney Todd" (which was an awesome movie, by the way). He asked me who the actor and director were so I told him Johnny Depp and Tim Burton. Lovely.
Story Plot : Though you could consider Edward being a robot, being invented by a really old man who died before he could give him realistic hands, he had a heart, a brain, everything. He had senses and sure it seems impossible but this is fiction. Anyhow, he's been living alone in an old castle on the hill until Peg, a sweet middle-aged Avon dealer, found him. She took him in her home but just look at the picture for one sec, it scared the devil out of my brother! Peg's family wasn't too warm towards Edward at first and so were the neighbors but things eventually worked out. He had a cool talent of trimming and cutting things-plants, animal fur, women's hair, ice ... and he was a super nice guy so people learnt to love him. Speaking of love, did I mention that Edward, too, fell in love with a pretty teenage girl?
Review Proper : I'll give it a 4/5. It was a very good film. I wish I could've given this a 4.9/5 but that isn't possible. So, a 4/5 should do. This is a must-see classic. And Johnny Depp, as usual, was at his best. Such a brilliant actor. And Tim Burton is still the best director when it comes to this genre. I don't know how you can sum up "The Corpse Bride", "Edward Scissorhands", "Sleepy Hollow", "Charlie and The Chocolate Factory", "Sweeney Todd" and more really but I love them all. I don't know much about camera angles but I always base my reviews on the story. It's awesome. But it's not a happy ending-oops.
Favorite Scene : When Kim, Peg's daughter, first met Edward. I won't go into details but this was my favorite scene. Hilarious. | Category: | Movies | | Genre: | Romantic Comedy |
So last night, my younger brother was flipping through the channels manually-and by that I mean he had to go up to the tv because he broke the remote. I told him to stop the annoying random color flashes some time around 7 because there was that little sign in HBO that said "Failure to Launch - 00:00"-okay so I forgot the exact minute and time. He was a bit hesitant at first and I explained to him what I have heard of of the plot. It was limited but it was enough to make him watch it.
There were lots of good films I've read of on the internet or in magazines but never got a chance to see them. "Failure to Launch" was one of them. It stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew McConaughey. Here's the part where I tell you the plot now. Tripp (McConaughey) is a 30-something-year-old man who still lives with his parents. He has a good job-a boat agent or something like that-but he just doesn't want to leave home. This is the main reason why his girlfriends or dates would dump him. Who'd like a grown man who still lives in his parents' house for a boyfriend, anyway? He makes his mom make him breakfast, prepare clothes for him, and packs his lunch. It drives his parents insane and leads them to hire Paula (Parker) who's very professional with her job of driving out boys like Tripp out of the house. The plan-to make him fall in love with her. Everything's going according to plan until Tripp finds out-thanks to his overattentive friends. As all romantic comedies are, there is a brief I-Don't-Ever-Want-To-See-You-Again phase but with some divine intervention-not really-friends and family intervention, the two are brought back together. How? Something much more creative than sending flowers from "Paula" to Tripp and "Tripp" to Paula. You'll have to see.
I thought that it was really good. To be perfectly honest, it was the first movie I've seen of both actors. I was never a Sex and The City fan (but I'm thinking of watching the movie. not sure about the ratings, though). It was very nice. A typical romantic comedy but with a twist-as all romantic comedies embody. There were hilarious scenes when Tripp gets attacked by a dolphin, a chipmunk, and a vegetaian lizard which doesn't happen often, right? The best thing about it is that the movie doesn't only focus on the two's romance but also on their friends Kit and Philip. Their story's equally funny and interesting-lots of mood swings, though. Anyway, I'm giving this a 4/5. I loved the boats. I basically loved the story, the actors, the setting, the dialogue-everything.
So now I ask myself-why did I take a really long time to watch this? | Category: | Movies | | Genre: | Drama |
Watched it a few weeks ago.
Starring Scarlett (is the spelling right?) Johansson and Natalie Portman.
I didn't actually read the novel. But I'm familiar with it. Thanks to my excessive drop-bys at the mall bookstores.
It was okay. As usual, good acting by the 2 actresses.
Especially Natalie Portman! (She's just brilliant)
Knew she was going to die all along.
Says so in the history books.
I'll give it a 4/5.
You should watch it when you get a free time.

My Movie Review on "The Messengers"
It's nothing new. But I happened to find a full version on the internet. No download needed. Totally free.
I also wanted to see Kirsten act. And she was good, by the way. So you, Twihards, can breathe now. She'd make a good Bella.
I wouldn't have watched it if it weren't for Kirsten, too. I mean, I don't watch horror movies often. Yesterday, I had to watch 3. And "The Messengers" was just one of them.
It was good. The best of the 3. I just hate those disembodied legs. Scared me crazy. I'll give it a 4/5 also.
Kirsten was the main character here. She played Jessica. And she was forced to move into a small town (oh what a coincidence) with her mom, dad, and baby brother. They bought an eerie old farm house. And I hated the house! I covered my eyes every farm house scene. I watched this alone. You'd think that those entities or corpses even are the malevolent spirits and that they're just downright mean as well as scary. But they're the "messengers". They were trying to protect Jessica and her family. Because they're the "messengers". (heh heh)
Maybe I would watch this film again. When it'll be shown in Star Movies this month. I'd probably ask my brother and dad to watch it with me. It was good. Great movie. Not corny. Good acting.
Still can't wait for Twilight.

My Movie Review on "Juno"
Yeh. I'm so not updated with the movies coming out these days. But anyway.
I liked this movie. I'll give it a 4/5.
It's about teenage pregnancy. And it sounds absurd and all but it was quite entertaining.
It was not about a flirty Juno who got knocked up when she got wasted one night at a party. It was about a tomboy Juno who ended up doing it with her best friend, Bleeker. It was about a girl wh considered an abortion. It was about a girl who realized she'd rather have the kid adopted. It was about a girl who ended up all puffy at Jr. High.
Ellen Page (who played Juno) was a good actress. She acted like a real ordinary small-town teenager. Though, she was exceptionally cool about being pregnant. Cool about her next check-up. And cool about giving up her kid and never seeing it.
She never did. That was what made the movie a bit sad. Bleeker suggested it was better if they would never see their baby. Because it'd only make things difficult. The seperation and giving up and all.
I could actually picture it as a film that'd be shown to students years from now. Because it's educational and all. No need to emphasize on that.
So there you have it. Juno. Good film. 4/5. | Category: | Books | | Genre: | Mystery & Thrillers | | Author: | Stephenie Meyer |
Here's how I dish on Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" and its sequel "New Moon". I haven't read "Eclipse" yet even though I have the copy already. Please. The last thing I'd want is to let the book take over my whole existence. It already happened to the first 2 books. Who's to say what's going to happen to me after reading the third installment? And have you heard of the great reviews people's been giving it? Enough said.
1. Comment on 'Twilight'. - Masterpiece.
2. Comment on Bella. - Lucky.
3. Comment on Edward. - God.
4. Comment on Jacob. - Nuisance.
5. Comment on 'New Moon'. - Extraordinary.
More On Twilight. (Its Plot) - Here's how everything of Bella's nothing-out-of-the-ordinary life turns around. She moves out of her mother's house to give her more time with her new husband, Bella's stepdad-Phil, some privacy. She flies to a rainy little town in Forks, Washington to stay with her father. She's suppose to go on with her ordinary life-high school and all-until she meets the Cullens one lunch break. Edward Cullen, in particular. It was never a Bella-meet-Edward kind of thing. Edward was not a very sociable type of guy and so was his brothers and sisters-Emmet and Rosalie, and Alice and Jasper-who are all together. Like a couple thing. And no, it's not incest because they're not really related. They're 'adopted' by Dr. Carlisle and Esme Cullen-at least, this was the story they made the townspeople believe. It's better than saying 'We're a family of vampires!', right? Bella gets intrigued by Edward as the days pass by but all he does is stir clear from her. Sometimes he even gives her the bad look which makes you think Bella poked him with a pencil. But don't fret. the two'll eventually fall in love, as far as the story goes but things never go smoothly. The Cullens are nice people-vamipres-whatever. They accept Bella into their family and they invite her to their games of baseball and all that jazz. But towards the end of the book, disaster strikes and a vampire's on the loose who'd do anything to taste Bella's blood < which is suppose to taste really really good (wrinkles nose). Will Edward and Bella survive? ... Of course they will! Why would there be 3 more sequels. Stupid question. But still. Hold on to your copies, ladies and gentlemen. It's going to be a rough ride!
Everyone's a Critic (Review Proper) - A masterpiece-that's what Stephenie Meyer made for us. I guess the world would be a lot more emptier if this book didn't hit the bookstores' shelves. And so would my own (pitiful) personal collection of books. What I like about it is how the author made each character so vivid. I can even picture myself as one of them (who wouldn't want to be Bella, anyway?). It's unbelievable but I've never read a book with characters as alive as the "Twilight"'s are. I can't say anything about the story, too. It's just great. It's got this whole appeal and it's everything you ever wanted on one platter. It's romance, it's suspense, paranormal, dark comedy, everything. I did hear rumors that it's a very chic novel-so boys don't usually go as nuts over it as the girls do. I don't know what makes it a chic novel, though. Maybe it's because of the intense love burning between Bella and Edward. Who knows? Just because it's a love story, it doesn't have to be chic. Chic's like those Hilary Duff movies but this is masterpiece. You're labeling the Mona Lisa chic, then eh?
More on New Moon (Its Plot) - It picks up on where "Twilight" left. Here, a year passes and Bella gets older (18, actually). I see her point. She pressures Edward into changing her into a vampire-for one, she wants to be with him for the rest of eternity and another-she does not want to become the old lady she saw in her nightmare. The Cullens decide to throw a birthday bash for her but things get a little out of hand when Bella gets a paper cut and one of the Cullens almost attacked her for his (or her) lack of control. This upsets Edward and decides that his entire vampire clan should leave Bella alone to go on with her normal mortal life. Who wouldn't be upset when a 'god' leaves you? Of course Bella was moping around and she felt like she could die of loneliness and of despair. She only brightens up when she starts hanging out with Jacob Black, the son of his father's good friend, Billy Black. Little did she know that Jacob's got a dirty little secret and she has to choose between his team or Edward's. And can her heart still be faithful to Edward-when Jacob's starting to make her like him-like him? Will Romeo ever come back for Juliet before Paris changes her mind?
Everyone's a Critic (Review Proper) - Extraordinary. The book must be possessed! As usual, the characters were good enough to be alive and step out of the book. And you'd think that would be enough but not for Stephenie Meyer. She had to give the characters strange powers to manipulate with your thoughts and feelings. Beware. But seriously, although this book may seem a little draggy at times-just because Edward stepped out of the picture for a few hundred pages-it doesn't have to be a bad book. In fact, it got really climatic towards the end. Especially when Bella was hopelessly searching for Edward in Volterra-you'll find out by the time you read-I could even hear the clock chime in my head. I was cheering for Bella and I was crumpling the bedcover where I sat as I read the book. I was even more thrilled reading that part than watching some real movie. That was one extraordinary experience.
How To Get Bitten (Where to Find Copies) - Oh, they're everywhere. But the tough part is getting the best value. Don't even go near the National Bookstore branch in Mango Square. It's just plain bad because I couldn't find a single copy there. Last Friday afternoon, I went to the Ayala branch and I found "New Moon" and "Eclipse" only. The "Twilight" copy I had to get a jeepney ride to the SM branch. I've been told that Powerbooks has all three books but that all depends on you. If you're the kind of person who wants everything done at once-and you don't mind spending extra cash-then you can go to Powerbooks. But if you want the best deals available in the city-go to either the SM or Ayala branch since NBS is giving out discounts that'll drive you nuts. I got my "Twilight" copy for as low as 284 even if its original price is suppose to be 355. Now that's value! And another thing, do buy tape and plastic cover to protect your copies. You might want to save them for the next generation or something like that.
And if you're one big big big Twilight series fan, or you're just itching up for more information, visit www.stepheniemeyer.com. Its got the latest (and more trustworthy) scoop on the fourth installment, the special edition of the third book, and the most-awaited movie, of course! | Category: | Movies | | Genre: | Romantic Comedy |
What makes an unforgettable koreanovela? An average quirky girl who meets vain inconsiderate boy. Add up say one kontrabido and one kontrabida, then ta-dah, a love quadrangle. I've noticed this for a long time already-from My Girl to Princess Hours and Full House. Undoubtedly, this is the koreanovela trademark but they always make a different story everytime. *sighs
Full House might be the not-so-new koreanovela but it's the first time I've seen it and it's not half bad at all. So the story goes like this (for those who've seen it already, this might revive your long lost memory!) Han Ji-eun is the average quirky girl who lost her parents when she was just in middle school. She ended up living alone in "Full House", the house her father designed and built and even named. Then Han Ji-eun gets conned by her two best friends who are expecting their baby. They sell her beloved house and lose her savings and even apply for a credit card using her name! As bad as things go for Han Ji-eun, this paves way to her meeting Young Jae, a famous actor whom she meets during her trick trip (courtesy of her con artist friends) in Shanghai. She has no money to go back to Korea nor to pay for her stay in the hotel (her "friends" told her that it was an all-expense paid trip so she did not bother to bring much money). Desperate, she begs Young Jae to borrow money and promises to pay him back when she gets to Korea. But all her savings were taken and Han Ji-eun now has no way of paying her debt-she does not even have a place to live in. Young Jae then hires her to become his housekeeper since he wants his house to be kept a secret from the public (not to mention his insane fans). Young Jae faces lots and lots of scandals and talks Han Ji-eun by entering into a contract marriage with him which changes everything in their lives. They have to live together (just a bit closer than a housekeeper-master relationship) and appear in public as a real couple. Did I mention about Min Hyuk and Hye Won entering the picture? Unfortunately, no secret can be kept forever, things get bad for the two-especially Young Jae's public image and he loses his career just after he realizes that he's in love with Han Ji-eun. Will he ever get his image and career back? Can he capture Han Ji-eun's heart and will there be another happy ending? I'm not telling even if you've seen it already-you forgot, didn't you?
I give this drama a 4 out of 5. The story is very interesting and I love the script. The acting is also good but then I am not much of a Rain fan. He's not as cute as Lee Dong Wook (of My Girl) but he's a very good actor. And he can sing well, too! I just hate the fact that Han Ji-eun looks good with the kontrabido Min Hyuk who is cuter than the leading man. But Han Ji-eun and Young Jae (Rain) is the better love team for me. They keep on fighting and shouting at each other which is real fun to see.
My favorite scenes would have to be 1. The camping-when Young Jae professes his love to Han Ji-eun for the first time (after 18 hours and 4 minutes of the koreanovela!) 2. Three bears-everytime either of the two sings the "Three Bears" song, I enjoy it. Young Jae even has an American version of it (laugh laugh laugh). 3. Poultry-everytime Young Jae calls her Poultry! And now I cannot remember anything else. I enjoy much of the movie except for the scenes wherein Han Ji-eun and Young Jae are not together. Even if they're fighting or not, I still love seeing them together. Aza aza fighting! I don't know why they keep on saying it but ... Aza aza fighting! | Category: | Movies | | Genre: | Romantic Comedy |
My Girl
I was begging my classmate, Walton, to bring his My Girl dvd last Thursday night and here I am on a Sunday night obsessing about it all over again. In fact, he lent it to me after a series of messaging. But that's all right. What I am worried about now is how I am ever going to stop pretending to be in the world of the Koreanovela which happens to be one of my favorites. Just today, I faked having a stomachache (and even put on a convincing pale lip tint to fool my parents from letting me go to grandfather's house, all for the love of watching the movie). Could the movie be a bad influence? No, I just have to keep in mind that I still am in the real world and no one can possibly be as gorgeous as ...
Lee Dong Wook! Oh my gosh. If you've seen this koreanovela when it was aired some couple of years ago in local television, his name was Julian. You cannot miss him, he's tall and an executive of the Avenuel Hotel. I can go on about him. He's so gorgeous and courteous and he's got a look no one else can ever manage to copy. Just check out the photo I've placed. And he looks so good with Lee Da Hae. She's the leading girl and together, they're one of the most beautiful couple I've ever seen. Quirky girl and Stern guy-typically Korean but what do I care? It always works different from one Koreanovela and the other.
So the story goes like this. Quirky and ever-cheerful Jasmine (as she's called in local airings) was a poor girl who worked as a tour guide. She had to support herself and her father with her little income. Sure it does not seem so bad but her father's a swindler who already brought her to many places (including the Philippines) just to escape from those whom he swindled. They get chased and soon, father and daughter seperates. Jasmine's on the run, too, then she meets Prince Charming Julian (as he's popularly known). No, he was not at all nice to her and you cannot blame him. She had done a lot of things to him like living in his villa without permission (she busted in) and plucked his mandarins and lied millions of times. Then Julian finds her talent a lie. He hires her to pretend to be his cousin because his grandfather was dying and he just wanted to give him a little peace. Finding someone who possibly died 20 years ago is after all, not very easy even with money. Then the old man recovers quickly as he finds joy in Jasmine's cheerfulness. But trouble comes when they fall in love with each other. Sure it's sweet and cute to see them falling in love and all that but that's where the storm starts. They're lying, first of all, and something badly big will happen if the grandfather knows. And then there's Julian's tennis player girlfriend and Jasmine's playboy admirer. The whole thing's just unpredictable. And it will take you up and down with it, too...
Which is why I simply love it. It's irresistible. Very long story, though. I'll give it a 5. The cast are just perfect and I know a good story when I see and hear one. I will be hanging around the fantasy world where prince charmings, castles, knights in shining armors, and magic exist for a few days. Let's just hope I do not get caught day dreaming...and My Girl still rocks!
