In A Nutshell :
Lestat is a vampire who longs for attention. In doing so, he captures the Queen of the Vampire's too, the Queen of the Damned, you may say.
Finding the Movie :
My Aunt Ann wanted me to watch this when I was way younger. But I wasn't sure if I watched it or not-I don't remember anything so probably not. I watched "Interview With The Vampire" weeks ago starring Tom Cruise as Lestat. Though the actor is different here, Stuart Townsend did a fab job anyway. And did I mention the late Aaliyah starred here. She did okay. Going back, I just wanted to watch a vampire flick to satisfy my thirst and hopefully, watching movies like these will help me survive until December when Twilight will be released. Ugh ... such a long long time.
Story Plot :
Based on Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles about the notorious vampire Lestat who disguises himself as a rock star. The Queen of the Damned Akasha awakens and has a taste for both mortal and immortal blood. After draining the King of the Damned's (Lolz) blood, she makes a special appearance at Lestat's concert. Just when things couldn't get anymore complicated, Jesse enters the picture. A young woman who has a strange (not exactly, actually. can't blame her when the vampire's hot) attraction for Lestat.
Review Proper :
I'll give it 4 stars. I'd definitely watch it again if I have the luxury of time. And I'm recommending it to you. The plot's way different from the book (I know. I have a copy-a hand-me-down) but I'm not so sure yet because I'm not done reading. Marius was suppose to ... hmm. Zip. Got it. No spoilers. It's a wee bit different but it's still enjoyable. Nice effects!
Favorite Scene :
When Jesse went inside the vampire bar in London and then "gets rescued" by Lestat. She impresses him with her vampiric knowledge. Let's take her advice. Read as much vampiric myths as you can. It might come in handy one day!
