for everyone

I guess I forgot to put some description on this. Not to mention missing out the captions which is just so wrong. Okaay. So this was the Boy Scouts-Girl Scouts Hike during Bonficacio Day 2007. Some time in November. Here are just some of the pictures I got from the other girl scouts' sites. It was tiring. Some people had to walk backwards. But I say the hiking was a lot more fun than the games.

5 places to summarize the really really long hike we had today. It was amazing-long lines of reds and greens. It was like taking an average stroll around the city. We covered a distance of 11,000 m-and I mean sure, the boys can do it but girls? It was quite hard for us but we managed. And I'm thankful for that. We were so tired. Beverly Hills certainly is not a very pleasant place to hike. It has a lot of narrow roads, rough roads, going-down roads, and the dreaded going-up roads. We took the longer and more complicated route. Climbing an average of 5 mountains. We climbed one and found the back of the roof of the Guadalupe parish! And another and found the Cebu City Jail-stars of the famed "Thriller" in Youtube. They were waving at us so I waved back at them. Nice of them, too, by the way. We took about 5-6 stops to drink water and sit and grumble and take pictures. We tried everything to distract ourselves and how tired we were already. We walked backwards during going-up roads because it was really really difficult. Having to carry bag, loads of water, own weight, and the sun was scorching. Lucky for me, I brought shades and covered my arms with socks so that they won't get sunburned. But that still did not change the condition of my legs and feet. They were aching for a few minutes after we finally reached Camp Marina. But I kept on eating to stall my "I surrenders". At first, I was really mum about how I was feeling and sweating already during the hike but everyone started screaming so I joined them. I had to beg for drops of waters. It was just unbelievable. When we finally reached the camp site, complaints started because of the back-biting mosquitoes so I started putting on Off Lotion and passed the tube around. When we settled down a bit, I went group hopping to the Berchmans and Xavier troop. They have always been the nicest guys I know. We talked about many things and decided to forget the difficulties of the whole hiking thing and fooled around. We talked about how boring Julius Caesar is and about the unfortunate death of a friend's father. I don't think he'd like it if I say his name here. It must have be devastating for him now-having to spend Christmas without his father. I was devastated when I got the news and to think he was not my father. But then again, everyone has to face these deaths-easy to say yet difficult to actually do. We were all called to participate in the base-to-base trainings. We learnt about lashings, knots (I hate knots!), bandages, frappings, and the 16 directions. Afterwards, we had lunch. All throughout the day, the boy scouts gave us VIP attention-nah, just kidding. But they were extra kind to us-included us in their games. Kind but not overprotective. They were very nice and I think all the girl scouts agree. So thanks, guys. We had games like flag relay which we ranked 4th of 6 or 7 troops. We had "Bring the Bacon" or was it "Bring Home the Bacon"? I'm not sure. The game was fun and it was the first time I played. I was so bad at it but that was not why I fell-yes, I fell. It was because of a girl who wanted to display-and earn extra attention from the boys. I wonder why they have to act so stupid to get boy attentions, I mean, they talk when you talk to them. I just don't understand some people. She totally fessed me off and made many more people fessed when she made us lose. It was quite understandable-considering that we were up against guys. But still, she was the reason why we lost 3 points out of 5 and that's huge! I was so embarrassed about falling and getting all dirty in front of many people but I later realized that I should not. She should! It was her fault anyway and my friends backed me up. Anyway, there was a BHTB match between the LCs and the "Unbeatable" First Years. The First Year troop got their heads in the clouds and started to brag all throughout the game. Thank heavens, they lost. They were being really disrespectful to the LCs. Then there was treasure hunting. We had to find the Philippine flag hidden somewhere in the whole camp. Imagine that! Who found it? Earl did. I was so surprised and I would not have believed it if he were not holding it. He was asked to hold it up to everyone. And he did not even know the right position of it. Flipped it a few times with the red part always on top. Haha, Earl, Haha. Thank goodness for Lui, too. He gave us a lift to school and we walked to Ayala. I ended up tearing the soles of my shoes. A proof that the hike was freaking wild. And that fake Lacostes never last...

Wish you were there! (So that you could have suffered and enjoyed with me!)
